BASIC SCIENCE
We share the curiosity and admiration for all forms of life on our planet. Our first vocation is that of the naturalist who observes and studies nature. Basic science is our starting point.
COLLABORATION
We research collaboratively, adding diversity of perspectives and methodological approaches.
ECOLOGICAL VISION
The complexity of the processes we study requires an integrative vision..
COMMITMENT
We are united by our commitment to finding solutions to the serious situation of biodiversity loss and global crisis.
PUBLIC SERVICE
We put our science at the service of society through disciplines such as Conservation Biology, Ecological Restoration or Biotechnology.
RESPECT FOR DIVERSITY
We work to achieve a creative, inspiring environment that respects people’s diversity.

EQUALITY COMMISSION
- Our society is still far from real and effective equality and the university world and scientific activity are no exception.
- From the commission we want to actively help to advance towards equal opportunities among all the people who are part of our group. We act in two ways: by making situations of inequality visible and by proposing actions for improvement.
- We work to make the Biodiversity and Conservation area a safe and violence-free workplace.
- We want to provide support in possible cases of inappropriate, violent, discriminatory treatment, etc.
If you are living or know of someone who is experiencing a violent, uncomfortable situation, that moves away from what is established in our manual of good practices, tell anyone in the commission.
