We are the Biodiversity and Conservation Area of the Rey Juan Carlos University

_________________________
As a public university, our mission is to generate knowledge and train professionals committed to society in the search for solutions to the global crisis.
Somos el area de biodiversidad y conservacion de la URJC

The Area is made up of a group of researchers committed to science of excellence in different areas of knowledge such as Cell Biology, Botany, Ecology, Physiology, Microbiology and Zoology.

We are driven by the curiosity to know what surrounds us and the search for solutions to the challenges posed by the current global situation.
We work from a multidisciplinary and multiscale approach, from the molecular to the ecosystem level. We start from the observation of biodiversity and basic science, from the study of all kinds of organisms and ecosystems, to propose solutions based on what we learn from nature.

Our training offer is based on advanced scientific knowledge and a multidisciplinary approach in biology, environmental management and ecosystem conservation. We offer you a higher education offer that includes university degrees, postgraduate programs and a doctoral program in Natural Resources Conservation. A solid and coherent training itinerary, led by top-level professionals committed to science, knowledge transfer and quality training.

WE HAVE CREATED

The Global Change Research Institute

The mission of the IICG is to serve as a bridge between the academic world, public administrations and society. Our goal is to contribute with science-based solutions to respond to the challenges posed by the environmental crisis.
Biodiversas ha creado el Instituto de investigacion de cambio global

In the face of the current climate emergency and the biodiversity crisis, we have launched the Global Change Research Institute. A necessary tool to be more effective in research and in the transfer of knowledge to society. A channel to connect with the administrations and bodies involved in decision-making. A platform from which to reach the productive and associative fabric, from our immediate environment to global forums.

The IICG facilitates the development of cutting-edge research in conservation biology, ecological restoration, study and management of biodiversity, ecosystem services and biotechnology in collaboration with public entities, companies and social organizations.

DEGREES

Find out about our offer of university higher education at the Higher School of Experimental Sciences and Technology (ESCET)

The area of Biodiversity and Conservation is a public university and our main means of knowledge transfer is higher education. Through the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in which we participate, we train the professionals that our society needs.
